Oops, I am delayed writing my second blog post for this week. I try to stick to fixed days, but sometimes busy moments take over. However, those moments are no excuses, not even in my own eyes. Once I start writing, I get into this flow of ideas and inspiration, so it is actually a great way to disconnect from all the rest for a while. Even fun activities we try to skip or postpone occasionally.

I am here in Miami for about 8 days now, and my visit will come to an end soon. During my time here I have been thinking about life and the opportunities that lay ahead of me. Some kind of new energy is running through me, with ideas and good hopes. The other day I sat by the beach in a restaurant by myself, with the strongest Sangria I ever had. I did not know they add vodka to this drink in some places.. But well, it helped me relax and find a moment of zen. While I was sitting there, watching the people pass by on their way to the beach, an interesting thought crossed my mind. How ready are we for new challenges and situations that are unfamiliar to us? Are we prepared for them? Sometimes new things happen by choice and others just cross our paths. But do we have them under control?

This week I am in Miami! :)

Friends can be like family. Maybe you have one specific friend or maybe two or three that make you feel as if they are your own siblings. Over the years they became very close to you and maybe you went through a lot together. That creates a feeling as if they know you like no other does!

In our society, we are more and more expected to multitask. In job descriptions it is often one of the requirements. 'You are a multitasker'. We are used to apply this 'skill' to our daily life. I am not sure if it is a skill actually, or just a habit and a way to be distracted. Can we still focus on one task, and finish it completely before going to the next thing? Instead of checking our emails in the meantime, replying to a text message or reading an article on that news page.. To me 'multitasking' means, not being able to focus on one assignment. Or often it is the job not letting us focus on one project at the time. Doesn't this influence our quality of work? Can we deliver the same product and giving it the same attention, when having done all these other things meanwhile?

Time is flying and so is life.. The moment when facebook shows me another memory of about 7 years ago, I can't help to think 'no way, is it that long ago already?' Some trips I took seem to be from last month while I took them more than 2 years ago. In my previous blog I wrote about little time that we have in our hands, however the moments they are in our hands. I remember after a long trip to get to Lanzarote I felt so extremely happy to arrive at our destination and take a dive into the pool. It has been the longest for me to get somewhere, ever.. due to weather conditions around the islands we had to make a stop on another island. We were stuck there for 2 days, spending most of the time at the airport. You can imagine my joy once we finally arrived at the place where we actually wanted to be. I will never forget that moment where we arrived at the hotel lobby and the receptionist offered us a glass of champagne.. Oh my god, that was just what I needed. We were finally there to start and enjoy our vacation.

Isn't this always on our minds nowadays? In the morning we wake up early to get ready for work and to start our days. Arriving at the office you run into deadlines and full email boxes and you rush your way fighting through them. You eat a quick lunch to still your hunger and the chaos continues..

One day unemployed and feeling a bit confused.. Getting up early to start working on some of my own projects and ideas.. But not having to be somewhere in time and no people expecting you to be there, feels kind of strange. I guess over time I will get more used to it and slowly will get into the flow of making my own daily program and plans. Let's say these are the adjustment days. It feels a little bit empty, as if I do not know where to go next and being alone in this whole process of finding my way. Not having a fixed income, floating on a board by myself in the middle of the ocean.. But at the same time I feel hope and curiosity of what is about to happen in the near future and excited about the new challenges to cross my path.

So,.. here I am..! Decided to quit my job after a period of ups and downs and hesitations. Went all a bit too quick though! I offered to stay for a few more weeks at my job (thought that would be a win-win).. But my boss had a different opinion and told me that our cooperation would end the same day. Oops.. Now what?!
